Loud as ever, huh Marcia? Haha, Just wait until I start bragging to her about how nice you are, Sol! You might just have earned a new fangirl! Err… Sol? Aren’t you coming?
Huh? O-oh, yeah! For sure! Just let me uhh… Collect myself, I guess. I made a really bad first impression with the others, I think… I don’t want to just stumble out there like a dummy and make it worse than it already is...
Hmm… You sounded like you had it all figured out earlier, but you’ve really got the same problems as me... Granted, you’re a kid, so of course you probably don’t really know how to handle them...
Ugh, sorry, listen to me ramble! Such an idiot! Look...
You really helped me out back there. So it’s only fair that I help you in return, right?
Sure… But I mean, how can you even help me?
Well, *technically* I can’t actually help you… But don’t worry, I still have an idea! I’m going to let you in on a bit of a secret. It’s really helped me out when I’m sad, so hopefully it will help you too.
Huh. Okay, what is it?
Well, first you have to close your eyes.
Uh-huh. Then what?
Then, you need to control your breathing. In and out… Try to time your breaths so that you’re breathing out once for every four or five beats of your heart. It’s natures bass line, haha. Err… Anyway, There’s the breathing down. Feel better yet?
Sol: A little bit, I guess? But I still feel really stressed…
That’s okay! I sort of figured you would. Breathing control never really helped me either, but it DOES help with the next step. So, now I need you to clear your mind, and imagine a flower. Any type of flower at all works.
Okay. What next?
Well… That’s it!
That’s it! Just a flower. From there, start inspecting it. Imagine smaller and smaller details… Maybe there are caterpillars crawling on the flower. Maybe the leaves are flowing gently in the wind… Just keep noticing new things on this flower until you forget the world outside of it. It’s you and the flower, and nothing else… And when you decide you’re alright, you can open your eyes. And it’s like you’ve forgotten everything that was bothering you before.
Huh… It’s definitely unique. I don’t know if I have the time right now, but sometime I should give that a try. That’d be pretty convenient if I could just forget all of my problems...
Haha, well, there’s no guarantee it will work for you just because it does for me… Plus, well… No matter how hard you try to forget, they always come back in the end... But I hope it helps, at the very least. Now come on, Enoch and Marcia are waiting.
